Meeta & I review 4 releases over the last 2 weeks - Phoonk 2, Paathshaala, JKSAH and Prince. However none of them impress Meetu. JKSAH was the only half decent movie among the ones released. Is it the IPL effect?

LSD, Well Done Abba movie review

Written by

Meeta & I review the releases over last two weeks - Love Sex aur Dhoka, Well Done Abba, Hum Tum Aur ghost, and Lahore. Meeta rates Love Sex Aur Dhoka as a must watch while you can catch the other ones on DVD. I expected good things from Lahore but Meeta returned disappointed.

Meeta & I review this weeks releases - Karthik Calling Karthik, Teen Patti. Meeta rates Karthik Calling as the movie for the weekend and says that Teen Patti is avoidable. We expect it to be on TV very soon. We also spend a few minutes talking about Harishchandrachi factory. Sadly, it didnt make the Oscar cut.

My Name is Khan Movie Review

Written by

The constraint is really appreciated both in terms of Karan Johar's direction and Shah Rukh Khan's performance. But unfortunately, in the last hour the movie leaves the US and enters K-Jo-land. And in both worlds Kajol intolerably shrieks her way through.

Rating: The keen must watch on screen; else DVD

Veer Movie Review

Written by

Ancestral feud. Mutual hatred. Boy meets girl. And if that ain't enough, you have rom-com, song-dance sequences and comic relief. Those, as we all know, are the ingredients of the masala cocktail. They seem to be in almost the right proportion too. How much each element is allowed to marinate is where things go wrong. So, while it’s a go right ahead for "Salmaniacs", for others it's not a complete loss either. I recognize the attempt in making an epic entertainer and I see partial success. Unfortunately, only partial. And yet, Salmaniacs can rejoice!
Rating: Movie buffs - rent a DVD (rating scale) - Salman Khan Fans - go for it!

Wake Up Sid Movie Review

Written by

Opposites attact, they say. But even the opposites had something similar that keep them together, for each other, and maybe even for ever. Similarities or differences - celebrate whatever it is that is the cause of your love. A chick flick that's not only for chicks.

Rating: Watch for sure, preferably in theatre

Paa Movie Review

Written by

Paa, a film that invokes thoughts on varying subjects from single parenthood, rare diseases to politics. And it does so successfully. As if that weren't enough it is all put together in a relatively unusual plot and has one superb performance by Amitabh Bachchan which overshadows brilliant performances by the rest of the cast too. We also look forward to your comments about the new format of the Wogma Podcast.

Rating: Watch for sure, preferably in theatre

Rocket Singh Movie Review

Written by

An adorable experience. A drama-free which by definition includes melodrama-free execution. Super-witty dialogues that are timed superbly. And a plot that flows smoothly. What more can we ask for? A faster pace? A shorter film? Maybe - but I'll take a little more of this than lose the impact it creates. Oh and kudos to Jaideep Sahni! This man has some writing prowess!!

Rating: Must see - on the big screen

Chance Pe Dance & Pyaar Impossible Review

Written by

We handle two new movies in this episode. Both the movies released this week - Chance Pe Dance and Pyaar Impossible were a disappointment.

Chance Pe Dance is about Sameer Behl (Shahid Kapoor), an aspiring actor mainly because he was born and stayed cute. He sees his ups and downs in life as an actor. At the end where does he reach? Up or down? If you really care you can go find out for yourself. Meeta pleads you to change the channels if its on TV.

Now Pyaar Impossible, they had enough maturity to touch upon some very valid issues revolving around love, it's a shame that it translates into a highly typical screenplay with the lousiest dialogues there could be!. Avoid.

3 Idiots Movie Review

Written by

Though 3 idiots is a little more slapsticky than the Munnabhai series, the crass humor seems to be with a purpose. What remains fascinating is the blend of comedy with his social messages, as usual. He makes being good look so simple.
