It’s dark and it’s abstract and it’ll make you think. What is it that will liberate you from the trappings of life? An outstanding performance by Rajat Kapoor and some thoughtful yet simple background music keep you company in this extremely slow-paced film.
Rating : Watch for sure - preferably in theatre
The stargiri is truly a huge put-off. So bad that even though the dialogues have a consistent, fresh bounce and Billu starts of as an interesting character, it falls flat as the film progresses. Human emotions can keep you glued as long as there's some movement in them. Just Irrfan's brilliant facial muscle movement does not suffice. Simple, at-times sweet but predictable too.
Rating : Watch on DVD
Luck by chance has romance, clever lines amongst the preachy ones, clichéd characters and the usual things that ensue. There's equal scope to let go and enjoy or to observe and ponder.
Rating : Really keen? Watch on screen, else wait for DVD release.
A crazy plotline of the 80s where Seeta meets Geeta or not. An unbelievable journey of a simpleton from shame to fame - where coincidences rule! An unsuccessful attempt at a comedy, but I guess a successful one at slapstick.
Rating : Watch if you have nothing better to do (Rating scale)
That I didn’t realize how my 3+ hours passed by is testimony to the fact that you can’t take the love for masala out of this Indian. Even though I usually don’t like this combination of spices I found myself enjoying most of Ghajini. The thriller succeeded in getting me anxious but the seasoning left a bad after-taste.
