TKM # 12: 3G is here

Written by
After the 3G announcement kabbadi, BSNL finally launched its services in Chennai and seems to be pretty affordable. Also, in news is a precedent setting law suit against Ajith D for being owner of an abusive orkut group. THe other topics discussed were Yahoo re-org, Safari 4 launch, Gmail going offline, Google joing EU's anti-microsoft campaign. Also, a very well-informed Editor of Medianama, Nikhil Pahwa, joined us as a guest on this episode.

Siddharth Movie Review

Written by

It’s dark and it’s abstract and it’ll make you think. What is it that will liberate you from the trappings of life? An outstanding performance by Rajat Kapoor and some thoughtful yet simple background music keep you company in this extremely slow-paced film.

Rating : Watch for sure - preferably in theatre

Billu barber movie review

Written by

The stargiri is truly a huge put-off. So bad that even though the dialogues have a consistent, fresh bounce and Billu starts of as an interesting character, it falls flat as the film progresses. Human emotions can keep you glued as long as there's some movement in them. Just Irrfan's brilliant facial muscle movement does not suffice. Simple, at-times sweet but predictable too.

TKM # 9: The Laptop that wasn't

Written by
This week saw the much talk about $10 laptop from India disappoint the whole world and sort of embarass India. The supposed laptop had neither a display nor an input device! The week also saw NDTV launch a new hullu like website currently having around 50000 video from its own network. Stories from the usual suspects, Google, Microsoft, and Facebook also came up during the discussions.

TKM # 8: A New Beginning

Written by
I'll be the first one to admit that Tech Ka Masala took a back seat for a while but now we are reviving it once again and hope to keep serving you episodes as promised. Since this is a new begining, we have a new host as well. Saket will be joining me on TKM as the co-host. We have known each other and I can vouch for his tech cred. Please do drop in a word with comments and also hope that you tune in to TKM for your next week's tech dose.

Luck by chance movie review

Written by

Luck by chance has romance, clever lines amongst the preachy ones, clichéd characters and the usual things that ensue. There's equal scope to let go and enjoy or to observe and ponder.

Rating : Really keen? Watch on screen, else wait for DVD release.

Chandni Chowk To China Movie Review

Written by

A crazy plotline of the 80s where Seeta meets Geeta or not. An unbelievable journey of a simpleton from shame to fame - where coincidences rule! An unsuccessful attempt at a comedy, but I guess a successful one at slapstick.

Rating : Watch if you have nothing better to do (Rating scale)

Ghajini Movie Review

Written by

That I didn’t realize how my 3+ hours passed by is testimony to the fact that you can’t take the love for masala out of this Indian. Even though I usually don’t like this combination of spices I found myself enjoying most of Ghajini. The thriller succeeded in getting me anxious but the seasoning left a bad after-taste.

Rating : Wait for video release (Rating scale)
